Flow Check
NOTE:
The flow check must be performed after the flush to ensure that all flushing solution and water is removed from the oil cooling system.
- Disconnect both hoses from the oil cooler pipes. Connect the oil cooler feed pipe, front connector, located on the case cover, to the transaxle and the return pipe, rear connector, located on the case, to the discharge hose (5).
- Clip the discharge hose (5) onto the empty oil drain container. See Fig 1 .
- Confirm the transaxle is filled with fluid. See CHECKING FLUID LEVEL & CONDITION .
- Start the engine with the transaxle in Park range and run for 30 seconds. A minimum of 2 qts. (1.9L) must be discharged during this 30 second run time.
- If fluid flow is greater than 2 qts. (1.9L) in 30 seconds, connect the oil cooler feedpipe to the front connector of the transaxle.
- If fluid flow is less than 2 qts. (1.9L) in 30 seconds, perform the following diagnosis:
- Disconnect the flusher discharge hose (5) from the oil cooler return pipe. See Fig 1 .
- Disconnect the oil cooler feed line at the radiator.
- Connect the discharge hose (5) to the cooler feed line.
- Clip the discharge hose (5) to the empty oil drain container.
- Start the engine with the transaxle in Park range and run for 30 seconds. A minimum of 2 qts. (1.9L) must be discharged during this 30 second run time.
- If the amount of transmission fluid flow remains less than 2 qts. (1.9L) in 30 seconds, inspect the oil cooler feed pipe, for restrictions or damage. If no condition is found with the feed pipe, inspect the transmission.
