Checking For Hydraulic Pressure

  1. With the engine is stopped vacuum 0 in. Hg. (0 kPa), depress the break pedal with a force of 44 foot pounds (196 N.m), and the fluid pressure is 107 psi.
  2. Start the engine. Depress the brake pedal when the vacuum reaches 19.7 in. Hg. (66.7 kPa), depress the break pedal with a force of 44 foot pounds (196 N.m). The unit is operating, if the fluid pressure is, with ABS: 1,038 psi, without ABS (vehicle equipped with 16" wheel) 683 psi or without ABS (vehicle equipped with 15" wheel): 1,038 psi.
