Diagnostic Procedures

  1. If powertrain diagnostic system check has already been performed, go to next step. If powertrain diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to POWERTRAIN DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKS.
  2. Ensure ignition is on. Using scan tool, select CHASSIS APPLICATION and attempt to display ABS data. If ABS data can be displayed, go to next step. If ABS data cannot be displayed, perform anti-lock brake diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK in appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
  3. Check for an open or poor connection in serial data circuits between EBTCM and PCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS in appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES. If any problem is found, repair as necessary. If no problem is found, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
