DTC B3106: Keyless Entry Data Link Parity Error: Testing

NOTE: For component locations, see COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . To identify wire colors and modules on class 2 serial data link, see appropriate DATA LINK CONNECTORS article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. For circuit identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  1. If Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If scan tool does not display DTC B1003, B3102 or B3103, go to next step. If scan tool displays DTC B1003, B3102 or B3103, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  3. Replace RCDLR. See REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK RECEIVER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, system is okay.
