DTC B2597: Traction Control/Suspension Switch Circuit (Short To Ground): Testing

  1. If BCM diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BCM INPUTS and monitor TCS SWITCH status. If TCS SWITCH status is INACTIVE, go to next step. If TCS SWITCH status is not INACTIVE, go to step  4.
  3. Activate TCS switch on center console. Monitor TCS SWITCH status on scan tool. If TCS SWITCH status changes, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If TCS SWITCH status does not change, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect TCS switch connector. Turn ignition on. Monitor TCS SWITCH status on scan tool. If TCS SWITCH status is not INACTIVE, go to next step. If TCS SWITCH status is INACTIVE, go to step  7.
  5. Check for short to ground in Brown/White wire between BCM connector C2 and TCS switch. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step  10.
  6. Check for poor connections at BCM connector C2. If connections are okay, go to step  8. If faulty connections are found and repaired, go to step  10.
  7. Check for poor connections at TCS connector. If connections are okay, go to step  9. If faulty connections are found and repaired, go to step  10.
  8. Replace BCM and program. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See BCM PROGRAMMING/RPO CONFIGURATION  under PROGRAMMING. After repairs, go to step  10.
  9. Replace TCS switch. After repairs, go to next step.
  10. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. If DTC resets, go to step  2.
