Circuit Description

Heated oxygen sensors are used to minimize amount of time required system to enter closed loop fuel control operation and to allow accurate catalyst monitoring. PCM controls HO2S heater operation by grounding the control circuit via an internal solid state device called a driver. The driver supplies the ground for the component being controlled.

DTC will set when engine is running and PCM detects that the heater control circuit current is out of calibrated range.
