DTC U1301: Class 2 Data Link Shorted To Power: Description

Modules connected by class 2 serial data circuit monitor communications during normal vehicle operation. Operating information and commands are exchanged between modules. In addition, Node Alive (state of health) signal is transmitted by each module every 2 seconds. DTC U1300 will set when module detects no messages and a high voltage on class 2 serial data circuit for 3 seconds. When DTC sets, SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator will turn on.

Normal operating voltage range to module is 9-16 volts. Vehicle power mode (ignition switch position) requires serial data communication to occur. Module will use default values for all parameters on class 2 serial data circuit and module will prevent any other class 2 DTCs to set.

DTC U1301 will clear when a valid class 2 message is detected on class 2 serial data circuit or at end of current ignition cycle. A history U1301 DTC can be cleared using s scan tool.
