Transfer Case Shift Control Module: Installation

  1. Install the transfer case control module on the mounting bracket. See Figure.
    2. NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  2. Install the mounting nuts on the mounting bracket. Tighten the nuts to 53 lb in (6 N.m).
  3. Install wiring harness connectors to the transfer case control module. See Figure.
  4. Install the body hinge trim panel. See Figure.
  5. Install the right-side instrument panel sound insulator. See Figure. Tighten the right-side instrument panel sound insulator screws to 17 lb in (1.9 N.m).
  6. Install the right front door sill trim plate to the vehicle by snapping it into place.
