DTC B2533: Front FOGLIGHT Relay Output Short To Battery: Testing

  1. If body function controller (BFC) diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If body function controller (BFC) diagnostic system check has not been performed, go toBODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Remove front foglight relay from right I/P junction block. Replace foglight relay with a known-good relay. Using scan tool, enable front foglight relay. If front foglights operate properly, go to step  8 . If front foglights do not operate properly, go to next step.
  3. Remove foglight relay. Using DVOM, measure voltage by backprobing between right I/P junction block connector C1 terminal F3 (Dark Green/White wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . See Figure . If reading is zero volts, go to next step. If reading is not zero volts, go to step  5 .
  4. Replace right I/P junction block. After repairs, go to step  8 .
  5. Disconnect BFC Gray 16-pin connector C1 terminal A2 (Dark Green/White wire). Using DVOM, measure voltage between right I/P junction block connector C1 terminal F3 (Dark Green/White wire) and ground. If reading is zero volts, go to next step. If reading is not zero volts, go to step  7 .
  6. Replace BFC. See BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step  8 .
  7. Repair short to voltage in Dark Green/White wire between BFC and right I/P junction block. After repairs, go to next step.
  8. Reconnect all disconnected components and connectors. Clear DTCs. Perform BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
