Diagnostic Procedures

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to DLC. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, attempt to establish communication with air bag restraint and diagnostic module (UART serial data line). If communication can be established, go to next step. If communication cannot be established, go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH UART SERIAL DATA LINE  .
  2. Using scan tool, attempt to establish communication with Powertrain Control Module (PCM). If communication can be established with PCM, go to next step. If communication cannot be established with PCM, go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS-II SERIAL DATA LINE  .
  3. Attempt to establish communication with radio (entertainment and comfort serial data line). If communication can be established, system is okay. If communication cannot be established, go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH ENTERTAINMENT & COMFORT  SERIAL DATA LINE.
