Circuit Description

BCM receives a State Of Health (SOH) message from each module whose source ID it has learned. DTC U1096 will set when BCM does not receive a SOH message from Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). No driver warning message will be displayed.

Under all fault conditions, ignition switch must be cycled from LOCK/OFF to RUN position before a current code will change to a history code. A current DTC U1096 will change to a history code when BCM receives a state of health message from IPC. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles. DTC U1096 will also clear when scan tool is used to clear codes.
