Diagnostic Procedures
- If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM harness connector C2. Disconnect theft deterrent key PASS-Lock(R) resistor connector. Using a DVOM, check resistance between ground and theft deterrent key PASS-Lock(R) resistor connector terminal "A" (White wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is infinite, go to step 4). If resistance is not infinite, go to next step.
- Repair short to ground in circuit No. 1459 (White wire) between BCM harness connector and theft deterrent pass key lock resistor connector. After repairs, go to step 10).
- Check for poor connection at BCM harness connector C2, terminal A6 (White wire). If connection is good, go to step 6). If connection is faulty, go to next step.
- Repair poor connection at BCM harness connector terminal A6. After repairs, go to step 10).
- Check for poor connection at theft deterrent key PASS-Lock(R) resistor connector terminal "A" (White wire). If terminal connection is good, go to step 8). If terminal connection is faulty, go to next step.
- Repair poor connection at theft deterrent key PASS-Lock(R) resistor connector terminal "A". After repairs, go to step 10).
- Replace theft deterrent key PASS-Lock(R) resistor. Reconnect BCM harness connector. Perform theft deterrent relearn procedure. See BCM PROGRAMMING . After repairs, recheck system performance. If problem is fixed, go to step 10). If problem is still present, go to next step.
- Replace BCM. Perform new BCM setup. See BCM PROGRAMMING . After programming BCM, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. After clearing DTCs, perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
