DTC B2648: Ambient Light Sensor Signal Short To Battery: Testing

  1. If BFC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BFC diagnostic system check was not performed, see procedures in BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Disconnect BFC Gray 24-pin connector C2. Disconnect ambient light sensor from top of instrument panel. Using DVOM, check voltage between ambient light sensor harness terminal "B" (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. If reading is zero volts, go to step 4). If reading is not zero volts, go to next step.
  3. Repair short to battery in Yellow/Black wire between ambient light sensor and BFC connector C2. Go to step 5).
  4. Replace ambient light sensor. Go to next step.
  5. Reconnect all disconnected components. Clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC B2648 exists, go to next step. If DTC B2648 does not exist, go to step 7).
  6. Replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Go to next step.
  7. Clear DTCs. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
