article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) contains a microprocessor. Communication with other modules is transmitted over Class 2 serial data bus. Instrument cluster gauges and indicators are provided input from microprocessor or directly from sending units or sensors. See Fig 1 . Illumination lights, plugged into back of cluster, are serviceable, but no other components on cluster are serviceable. If any component on cluster is faulty, replace cluster.
