DTC B1339: Battery For Door Lock Circuit (Open): Testing

  1. If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Check DOOR LOCKS fuse (20-amp), located in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step  6 .
  3. Replace DOOR LOCKS fuse. Check DOOR LOCKS fuse. If fuse is blown, go to step  8 . If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition switch to LOCK, then RUN position. Press lock on either door lock switch. Check DOOR LOCKS fuse. If fuse is blown, go to step  9 . If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  5. Press unlock on either door lock switch. Check DOOR LOCKS fuse. If fuse is blown, go to step  10 . If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  6. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM Natural 10-pin connector C3. Connect test light between BCM harness connector C3, terminal "J" (Orange wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . See Figure . If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step  11 .
  7. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC B1339 is set, go to step  12 . If DTC B1339 is not set, go to step  13 .
  8. Repair short to ground in Orange wire between BCM connector C3 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step  14 .
  9. Repair short to ground in Gray wire(s) between BCM connector C3 and power door locks. Go to step  14 .
  10. Repair short to ground in Tan wire(s) between BCM connector C3 and power door locks. Go to step  14 .
  11. Repair poor connection or open in Orange wire between BCM connector C3 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step  14 .
  12. Check for poor connection at BCM connector C3, terminal "J" (Orange wire). If connection is okay, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reprogram BCM. See NEW BCM SETUP  under PROGRAMMING. Go to step  14 .
  13. System is operating properly at this time. After any repairs are made, go to next step.
  14. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If any DTCs are current, perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS. If no DTCs are current, system is operating properly.
