DTC P0463
NOTE:
Only disconnect specified BCM connector. If all 3 BCM connectors need to be disconnected, they need to be disconnected in a specific order, or BCM DTCs will set. See appropriate procedure under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULE
article.
- Disconnect Body Function Controller (BFC) connector C2. Backout terminal A4 (Black wire) of BFC connector C2. Disconnect fuel tank module connector. Using a DVOM, measure voltage of Black wire between BFC connector C2 terminal A4 and ground. If voltage is Zero, go to next step. If voltage s not as specified, go to step 6).
- Backout terminal A12 (Black wire) of connector C3 of Left Hand Instrument Panel Bussed Electrical Center (LH I/P BEC). See Fig 1 . Using a DVOM, measure resistance of Black wire between fuel tank module connector terminal "D" and LH I/P BEC connector C3 terminal A12. If resistance is 0-2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, locate and repair open in Black wire.
- Back out Black wire of LH I/P BEC connector C2 terminal A1. See Fig 1 . Using a DVOM, measure resistance of Black wire between connectors C2 terminal A1 and C3 terminal A12. If resistance is between 0-2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, go to step 7).
- Using a DVOM, measure resistance of Black wire between LH I/P BEC connector C2 terminal A1 and BFC connector C2 terminal A4. If resistance is 0-2 ohms, go to step 8). If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, locate and repair open Black wire between LH I/P BEC connector C2 terminal A1 and BFC connector C2 terminal A4.
- Back out LH I/P BEC connector C3 terminal A12 (Black wire). Using a DVOM, measure voltage of Black wire between fuel tank module terminal "D" and LH I/P BEC connector C3 terminal A12. If voltage is Zero, go to next step. If voltage is greater than Zero, locate and repair short to voltage in Black wire.
- Measure voltage of Black wire between LH I/P BEC connector C2 terminal A1 and connector C3 terminal A12. If voltage is Zero, go to next step. If voltage is measured, locate and repair short to voltage in Black wire.
- Replace Left Hand Instrument Panel Bussed Electrical Center (LH I/P BEC).
- Replace fuel tank module. Restore connections of all connectors and components. Clear DTCs from memory. If DTC P0463 remains a "CURRENT" code, replace Body Function Controller (BFC). See appropriate procedure under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in BODY CONTROL MODULE article.
