DTC P0462
- Disconnect fuel tank module connector. Install scan tool. Using scan tool, read FUEL TANK MODULE resistance value. If value is greater than 250 ohms, go to step 6). If resistance is less than 250 ohms, go to next step.
- Back out terminal A12 (Black wire) of Left Hand Instrument Panel Bussed Electrical Center (LH I/P BEC) C3 connector (located left hand side of instrument panel). See Figure . Read FUEL TANK MODULE resistance value of scan tool. If value is greater than 250 ohms, go to next step. If value is less than 250 ohms, locate and repair short top ground in Black wire between LH I/P BEC C3 connector terminal A12 and terminal "D" of fuel tank module connector.
- Back out terminal A1 (Black wire) of LH I/P BEC C2 connector. See Figure . Read FUEL TANK MODULE resistance value of scan tool. If resistance value is greater than 250 ohms, go to step 5). If resistance value is less than 250 ohms, go to next step.
- Using a DVOM, measure resistance of Black wire between LH I/P BEC C2 connector terminal A1 and BFC connector C2 terminal A4. If resistance is between 0-2 ohms, replace fuel tank module. If resistance is not as specified, locate and repair open or short in Black wire.
- Replace LH I/P Bused Electrical Center. Clear DTC's from memory. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Replace Body Function Controller (BFC). See appropriate procedure under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in BODY CONTROL MODULE article. Clear DTC's from memory. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
