DTC U1016, Pcm Class 2 Serial Data State Of Health Fault

  1. If BFC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BFC diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, establish communications with PCM. If communication can be established, go to next step. If communication cannot be established, go to step 4).
  3. See appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. Refer to menu below. Go to step 8).
  4. Using scan tool, establish communication with other modules. If communication can be established, go to step 6). If communication cannot be established, go to next step.
  5. Locate and repair problem in DLC system. See appropriate wiring diagram in DATA LINK CONNECTORS article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. Go to step 8).
  6. Clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC U1016 exists, go to next step. If DTC U1016 does not exist, go to step 8).
  7. Replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Go to next step.
  8. Clear DTCs. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
