DTC B2603, DRL Relay Output Short To Battery
- If BFC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BFC diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Using scan tool, activate DRL relay. If DRL relay does not activate, go to next step. If DRL relay activates, go to step 11).
- Replace DRL relay with a known good relay. DRL relay is located in underhood bussed electrical center. If DRL relay does not activate, go to next step. If DRL relay activates, go to step 11).
- Remove DRL relay from underhood bussed electrical center. Back out underhood bussed electrical center 68-pin, Brown connector C3, terminal B12 (Light Green/Black wire). Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, check voltage between underhood bussed electrical center connector C3, terminal B12 (Light Green/Black wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 6).
- Replace underhood bussed electrical center. Go to step 11).
- Disconnect BFC 16-pin connector C1. Using DVOM, check voltage between BFC harness connector C1, terminal B5 (Light Green/Black wire) and ground. If zero volts exists, go to step 8). If zero volts does not exist, go to next step.
- Repair short to battery in White wire between BFC connector C1 and underhood bussed electrical center connector C3. Go to step 11).
- Check for a poor connection at BFC connector C1, terminal B5 (Light Green/Black wire). If a poor connection exists, go to next step. If connection is okay, go to step 10).
- Repair poor connection at BFC connector C1, terminal B5 (Light Green/Black wire). Go to step 11).
- Replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
