DTC B2588, ALC Parking Light Relay Output Short To Battery
- If BFC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BFC diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Using scan tool, activate ALC parking light relay. If ALC parking light relay activates, go to step 11). If ALC parking light relay does not activate, go to next step.
- Replace ALC parking light relay with a known good relay. ALC parking light relay is located in underhood bussed electrical center. If ALC parking light relay activates, go to step 11). If ALC parking light relay does not activate, go to next step.
- Remove ALC parking light relay from underhood bussed electrical center. Back out underhood bussed electrical center 68-pin, Brown connector C3, terminal B8 (White wire). Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, check voltage between underhood bussed electrical center connector C3, terminal B8 (White wire) and ground. If zero volts exists, go to step 6). If zero volts does not exist, go to next step.
- Replace underhood bussed electrical center. Go to step 11).
- Disconnect BFC 16-pin connector C1. Using DVOM, check voltage between BFC harness connector C1, terminal B1 (White wire) and ground. If zero volts exists, go to step 8). If zero volts does not exist, go to next step.
- Repair short to battery in White wire between BFC connector C1 and underhood bussed electrical center connector C3. Go to step 11).
- Check for a poor connection at BFC connector C1, terminal B1 (White wire). If a poor connection exists, go to next step. If connection is okay, go to step 10).
- Repair poor connection at BFC connector C1, terminal B1 (White wire). Go to step 11).
- Replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
