Diagnostic System Check

NOTE: Perform this check before diagnosing symptoms.
  1. Move front height switch up and down. Move rear height switch up and down. Move entire seat switch up and down. Move forward/back switch forward and back. Move recliner switch up and down. Seat should move into each selected direction. If seat operates as specified, go to next step. If seat does not operate as specified, go to LEFT SEAT DOES NOT MANUALLY MOVE IN ANY DIRECTION  or LEFT SEAT DOES NOT MANUALLY MOVE IN ONE DIRECTION.
  2. Turn ignition off. Put gearshift lever in Park. Simultaneously press DRIVER-1 and DRIVER-2 switch. Seat should move to easy exit position (fully down and back) and a single chime should be heard. Mirror positions should not change. If seat operates as specified, go to next step. If seat does not operate as specified, go to SEAT DOES NOT MOVE TO EASY EXIT POSITION  .
  3. Using mirror select switch, select left mirror. Briefly press outside mirror switch to left, right, up and down positions. Using mirror select switch, select right mirror. Briefly press outside mirror switch to left, right, up and down positions. Each mirror should move into each selected position. If each mirror operates as specified, go to next step. If each mirror does not operate as specified, go to one of the following tests:
    • BOTH MIRRORS DO NOT MOVE MANUALLY.
    • Appropriate OUTSIDE MIRROR DOES NOT MOVE MANUALLY.
    • ONE MIRROR DOES NOT MOVE RIGHT & LEFT FOR MANUAL & RECALL FUNCTIONS.
    • ONE MIRROR DOES NOT MOVE UP & DOWN FOR MANUAL & RECALL FUNCTIONS.
  4. Momentarily press DRIVER-1 switch. Both seat and mirrors should move to programmed positions for DRIVER-1 and a single chime should be heard. Momentarily press DRIVER-2 switch. Both seat and mirrors should move to programmed positions for DRIVER-2 and a single chime should be heard. If seat and mirrors operate as specified, go to next step. If seat and mirrors do not operate as specified, go to one of the following tests:
    • ONE MIRROR DOES NOT MOVE RIGHT & LEFT FOR MANUAL & RECALL FUNCTIONS.
    • ONE MIRROR DOES NOT MOVE UP & DOWN FOR MANUAL & RECALL FUNCTIONS.
    • ONE DIRECTION DOES NOT SET OR RECALL.
    • MEMORY FUNCTIONS INOPERATIVE.
  5. Manually move seat fully forward and up. Seat should move fully forward and up. Press Set Memory switch, then press DRIVER-2 switch within 5 seconds. Simultaneously press DRIVER-1 and DRIVER-2 switch. Seat should move to easy exit position (fully down and back). After seat stops moving, momentarily press DRIVER-2 switch. Seat should return to fully forward and up position. If seat operates as specified, go to next step. If seat does not operate as specified, go to one of the following tests:
    • ONE DIRECTION DOES NOT SET OR RECALL.
    • MEMORY FUNCTIONS INOPERATIVE.
    • ALL MEMORY, SEAT & MIRROR FUNCTIONS INOPERATIVE.
  6. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Apply parking brake. Put gearshift lever in Reverse. Right outside mirror should move down 5 degrees or to the end of travel. If mirror operates as specified, go to next step. If mirror does not operate as specified, go to PARALLEL PARKING ASSIST MODE INOPERATIVE  .
  7. Press UNLOCK button for DRIVER-1 on remote keyless entry transmitter. Seat and outside mirrors should move to programmed settings for DRIVER-1. Press UNLOCK button for DRIVER-2 on remote keyless entry transmitter. Seat and outside mirrors should move to programmed settings for DRIVER-2. If seat and mirrors operate as specified, system is operating properly. If seat and mirrors do not operate as specified, locate and repair problem in remote keyless entry system.
