Blower Motor Only Operates In High Speed

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Buick Park Avenue and 1996 Buick LeSabre. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect programmer connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between blower motor connector terminals "A" (Purple wire) and "B" (Black wire). Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between programmer connector terminal F2 (Orange wire) and ground. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, check relay center fuse No. 11 (10-amp). If fuse No. 11 is okay, check for open Orange wire and/or Purple wire. Repair as necessary.
  2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check for open Gray/Black wire between blower motor control module and programmer. Check programmer connector terminal F2 (Orange wire) for proper terminal contact. If circuit and terminal are okay, replace programmer.
