Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Assembly: Removal

  1. BPMV is located at lower left corner of engine compartment, behind headlight, attached to EBCM/EBTCM. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly and PCM cover. Disconnect EBCM/EBTCM harness connectors and BPMV motor ground connector. Remove brake pipe fittings (note pipe locations for installation). See Figure .
    CAUTION: Protect vehicle finish from brake fluid. Avoid excessive bending of brake pipes during removal.
  2. Remove EBCM/EBTCM bracket and mounting bolt. Remove upper BPMV bracket from frame rail. Remove EBCM/BPMV assembly from vehicle.
  3. Remove 4 EBCM/EBTCM-to-BPMV bolts. Separate EBCM/EBTCM from BPMV by pulling rearward till separated. DO NOT twist while separating.
CAUTION: DO NOT pry EBCM/EBTCM, Be careful not to damage seal (if reusing module). If seal is damaged during removal, repair damaged area using silicone sealer or replace EBCM/EBTCM.
