Test No. 1, Lumbar Control Test

  1. Disconnect seat control module connector. Using voltmeter, check voltage between seat control module harness terminal "F" (Orange wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair poor connection, open, or short to ground in Orange wire between seat control module and fuse block.
  2. Check voltage between seat control module harness terminals "F" (Orange wire) and "B" (Black wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair poor connection or open in Black wire between seat control module and ground.
  3. Check voltage between seat control module harness terminals "F" (Orange wire) and "E" (Black wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair poor connection or open in Black wire between seat control module and ground.
  4. Move left/right switch to left position. Check voltage between seat control module harness terminal "A" (Black/White wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for poor connection, open or short to ground in Black/White wire between console seat switch and seat control module. Check for poor connections at console seat switch. If circuits and connections are okay, replace console seat switch.
  5. Leave left/right switch in left position. Disconnect seat air pump assembly connector. Depress and hold middle lumbar switch in inflate position. Check voltage between seat air pump assembly harness terminal "A" (Pink wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open in Pink wire between seat control module and seat air pump assembly. Check for poor connections at seat control module. If circuits and connections are okay, replace seat control module.
  6. Leave left/right switch in left position. Depress and hold middle lumbar switch in inflate position. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between seat air pump assembly harness terminals "A" (Pink wire) and "B" (Orange wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, check for open in Orange wire between seat control module and seat air pump assembly. Check for poor connections at seat control module. If circuits and connections are okay, replace seat control module.
  7. Check for poor connections or damaged wiring at seat air pump assembly. If circuits and connections are okay, replace seat air pump assembly.
