DTC 76: Data Line Signal Or Circuit Fault: Notes
EBTCM shares specific serial data information supplied on the data line. The data line also allows the use of a bi-directional scan tool such as a Tech 1.
A current DTC 76 cannot be read with a TECH 1 due to the loss of serial data communications. After data line communications are restored, DTC 76 will be stored in memory.
NOTE:
On some early production vehicles, DTC 76 may set if Tech 1 is unplugged from the DLC during data list or test functions. This can be avoided by backing out to main menu screen before unplugging Tech 1.
