Section 63 (Keyless Entry System - Passive): Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Chevrolet Lumina APV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

To lock all doors and arm alarm system, close doors and walk away from vehicle with transmitter. Doors will lock and alarm will chirp to confirm alarm arming. Alarm will be disarmed and doors will unlock when vehicle is approached while carrying transmitter. If alarm is activated, alarm can be disabled by bringing transmitter within range of vehicle, or by using door key in driver's door and unlocking door.

To test operation of system, open driver's door window. Close all doors and walk away from vehicle at least 15 feet, while carrying transmitter. Leave transmitter out of range of vehicle. Approach vehicle and reach inside and unlock and open door, or place ignition key in RUN position. Alarm should activate, sounding horn and flashing headlights. If system does not operate as specified, go to TESTING  .
