Diagnostic Tests: Notes

NOTE: To identify PKE and Universal Theft Deterrent (UTD) module terminals, see Fig 1 and Fig 2 .

Before performing diagnostic tests, open driver and passenger windows. Separate ignition and door keys from transmitter. Remove all functional transmitters from antenna range. Verify normal operation of headlights, horns, power door locks, door jamb switches and engine compartment light. Check that vehicle battery is properly charged. Ensure transmitter batteries are good. Make sure hood is fully closed. Upon exiting diagnostic mode, PKE system will default to a passive mode off condition. To reactivate passive mode functions, use TEST 2  , RESETTING PKE SYSTEM.
