Test 2 - Power Door Lock System Inoperative
NOTE:
Ensure key is removed from ignition before performing test.
- Using DVOM, backprobe keyless entry module connector terminal "A" (Orange wire) to ground. If battery power is present, go to next step. If zero volts exist, repair open in Orange wire, and/or check for poor ground connection.
- Backprobe module connector terminal "A" (Orange wire) to terminal "B" (Black wire). If battery power exists, go to next step. If zero volts exist, repair open in Black wire.
- Backprobe module connector terminal "G" (Light Blue wire) to ground. Place door lock switch in LOCK position. If battery power exists, go to next step. If zero volts exist, check for poor connections at driver's door lock switch, and at module Light Blue terminal. If connections are okay, repair open in Light Blue wire.
- Backprobe module connector terminal "E" (Light Blue/Black wire) to ground. Place door lock switch in LOCK position. If battery power exists, go to next step. If zero volts exist, check for poor connection and/or repair open in Light Blue/Black wire.
- Backprobe module connector terminal "F" (White wire) to ground. Place driver's door lock switch in UNLOCK position. If battery power exists, go to next step. If zero volts exist, check for poor connection at door lock switch and control module and/or repair open in White wire.
- Backprobe module connector terminal "D" (Tan wire) to ground. Place driver's door lock switch in UNLOCK position. If battery power exists, go to next step. If zero volts exist, check for poor connection at module and/or repair open in Tan wire.
- Backprobe power door lock relay terminal "C" (Orange wire) to ground. If battery power exists, go to next step. If zero volts exist, check for open in Orange and/or Black wires at relay.
- Backprobe power door lock relay terminals "C" (Orange wire) to terminal "D" (Black wire). If battery power exists, go to next step. If zero volts exist, repair open in Black wire to relay.
- Backprobe power door lock relay terminal "E" (Tan wire) to ground. Place driver's door lock switch in UNLOCK position. If battery power exists, got to next step. If zero volts exist, check for poor connections at White and Tan wires of relay and/or open in White wire.
- Backprobe power door lock relay with between terminal "B" (Gray wire) and ground. Place driver's door lock switch in LOCK position. If battery voltage is present, repair open circuit in Tan, Gray, or White wires. If battery voltage is not present, check for poor connection at power door lock relay terminals "A" (Light Blue/Black wire) or "B" (Gray wire), or open circuit in Light Blue/Black wire to power door lock relay. If wiring is okay, replace power door lock relay.
