Oil Pressure Indicator

  1. If indicator does not come on at all, go to step 3). If indicator light remains on with engine running, check oil level. If oil level is okay, check oil pressure with a gauge. If oil pressure is okay, turn ignition on and disconnect oil pressure switch connector.
  2. If indicator light goes out, replace oil pressure switch. If indicator light remains on, inspect Tan wire and connectors for short to ground. If wire and connectors are okay, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Check bulb and fuse. If bulb and fuse are okay, remove oil pressure switch connector, and jumper Tan wire to ground. If indicator comes on, go to next step. If indicator does not come on, check Tan wire between oil pressure switch and instrument panel for open circuit. If wire is okay, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Connect jumper wire between connector switch Tan and Black wires. If indicator comes on, replace switch. If indicator does not come on, repair open in Black wire.
