Code P1406, EGR Valve Pintle Position (2 Of 2)

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.

1. Checks will diagnose an incorrect EGR pintle position sensor input signal. This test verifies a 5 volts reference at EGR valve.
2. Ensures position signal circuit is not shorted to ground.
3. Checks position signal circuit for an open.
