  1. If CHECK OIL indicator stays lit constantly or lights for about 1.5 seconds when ignition switch is first put in RUN position, go to next step. If CHECK OIL indicator does not stay lit constantly and/or does not light for about 1.5 seconds when ignition switch is first put in RUN position, go to step 4).
  2. If CHECK OIL indicator stays on with oil level okay, go to next step. If CHECK OIL indicator does not stay on with oil level okay, disconnect oil level switch connector. Remove ALARM fuse for 30 seconds, then reinstall fuse. Turn ignition on. If CHECK OIL indicator is on, replace oil level switch. If CHECK OIL indicator is not on, check Orange wire between IPC connector terminal "I" and multi-function alarm module terminal "C" for a short to ground. If wire is okay, replace IPC.
  3. Disconnect oil level switch connector. Connect fused jumper wire between connector terminal "B" (Brown wire) and ground. Remove alarm fuse for 30 seconds, then reinstall fuse. Turn ignition on. If CHECK OIL indicator is on, repair open circuit in oil level switch Black ground wire. If CHECK OIL indicator is off, replace oil level switch.
  4. If indicator does not stay lit constantly and/or does not light for about 1.5 seconds when ignition switch is first put in RUN position as outlined in step 1), remove IPC. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  5. Turn ignition on. On IPC without gauges, go to next step. On IPC with gauges, measure voltage (backprobe) between IPC connector terminal "R" (Pink wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit in Pink wire. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
  6. Measure voltage (backprobe) between IPC connector terminal "I" (Orange wire) and ground. If voltage is present, check bulb. If bulb is okay, replace IPC. If voltage is not present, check multi-function alarm module.
