Chart A-1, No Service Engine Soon Light: Notes

SERVICE ENGINE SOON light is located in IPC. Light is powered by Ignition 1, circuit No. 39. PCM completes system ground (circuit No. 419) to turn light on. With ignition on and engine not running, light should be on. If light is on steady with engine running, a fault code has been set.

1. SERVICE ENGINE SOON light should be on.
2. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, probe each system ground circuit to be sure a good ground is present. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section to identify system ground circuits.
