Test E: Only The Inflate Or Deflate Function Operates

  1. Measure the voltage at the disconnected Seat Control Module Connector.
  2. Move the Seat Select Switch to the OFF position and all function switches to the OFF position.
  3. Check for battery voltage between Seat Control Module Connector terminal F (ORN) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If the voltage is not as specified, check the ORN (40 and 1440) wires for an open.
  4. Check for battery voltage between Seat Control Module Connector terminals F (ORN) and B (BLK). If the voltage is not as specified, check the BLK (154) wire for an open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  5. Check for battery voltage between Seat Control Module Connector terminals F (ORN) and E (BLK). If the voltage is not as specified, check the BLK (154) wire for an open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  6. Move the Seat Select Switch to the LEFT or RIGHT position and each function switch to the DEFLATE position one at a time.
  7. Check for battery voltage between Seat Control Module Connector terminal D (WHT) and ground. If the voltage is not as specified, check the WHT (766) wire for an open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If the wire is good and voltage is not present during the operation of some function switches, replace the Console Seat Switch. See SEAT SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  8. Check for battery voltage between Seat Control Module Connector terminal H (GRY) and ground. If the voltage is not as specified, check the GRY (764) wire for an open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If the wire is good and voltage is not present during the operation of some function switches, replace the Console Seat Switch.
  9. If all of the voltages are as specified, but the Seat Air Pump does not operate in all functions, go to next step.
  10. Measure the resistance at the connected Seat Control Module Connector.
  11. Make sure the negative battery terminal is disconnected and the Console Seat Switch Connector C1 is disconnected.
  12. Measure the resistance (less than one ohm) between Seat Control Module Connector terminals A (BLK/WHT) and B (BLK). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If the resistance is not as specified, replace the Seat Control Module.
  13. Measure the resistance (less than one ohm) between Seat Control Module Connector terminal A (BLK/WHT) and ground. If the resistance is not as specified, check the BLK (154) wire for an open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  14. If the resistances and voltages are as specified, but the Seat Air Pump does not operate in all functions, replace the Seat Control Module.
