Code A092 - Open Brake Switch Contacts (When Abs Required): Notes

This test detects a brake switch fault. When brake pedal is applied, brake switch closes and a voltage signal is sent to EBCM. The EBCM looks for this signal to know when brake pedal has been applied. The EBCM cannot activate ABS without this signal. Code A092 will set only when conditions requiring ABS are present.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. This step determines if brake switch signal is being received by EBCM.
  2. This test isolates open circuit to either brake switch or brake lampcircuit.
  3. This test isolates open circuit to either brake switch input circuit or EBCM.
