Action Taken

- ECM turns on SERVICE SOON light.
- ECM clears all BCM data from ECM memory.
- ECM assumes that A/C clutch is on at all times and controls ISC operation accordingly.
This code is set by ECM when problem is detected transferring data back and forth between BCM. Due to nature of code, it will only be present as an intermittent. See BCM CODE F32 .
- Code E47 indicates the ECM has lost BCM data sometime in the past.
- Code E47 will never be displayed as a "hard failure". Because E47 failed hard, the ECM cannot send the BCM any trouble codes or other messages.
- With Code E47 hard, ECM diagnostics not available.
- To diagnose Code 47, use BCM CODE CHART F32.
