Code B336, Loss Of IPC Serial Data

This code can only be viewed as a "HISTORY" code because if it was current, service diagnostics could not be entered. Since serial data (+7 volts) and ground terminals are redundant, it would take a double open in any of those circuits to set the code. A single intermittent open in circuit No. 343 would also set the code.

If codes are intermittent, careful checking of all terminal contacts is required prior to any parts being replaced.

If IPC presently has a loss of serial data, diagnostics cannot be displayed. Current faults are covered on charts B-1 or B-2.

Code B336 indicates an intermittent has occurred. Should intermittent problem persist, check the following circuits for opens or poor terminal contacts.

CIRCUIT-TO-IPC TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION

Circuit Terminals
Serial Data Terminals "C-4" & "D-4"
+ 7 Volt Terminals "C-3" & "D-3"
Ign. Off Terminal "C-2"
CPS Ground Terminals "C-16" & "D-16"

Also check circuits No 800B and 800C, including good terminal contact at terminals "C4" and "D4". If intermittent persists, replace IPC. When all diagnosis and repairs are completed, clear codes and verify operation.
