Chart 6, Improper Air Delivery

The BCM directs the blended air in one of several air delivery modes. While the side window outlets receive airflow during all modes of operation, the other outlets are directed air by commanding the programmer to energize a specific vacuum valve, feeding the appropriate combination of mode door actuators. The BCM determines the proper air delivery mode based upon the current program number and control panel setting.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. This step verifies commanded door position so actual air delivery can be checked.
  2. This step checks to see if the fault is due to vacuum source or distribution of vacuum.
  3. This step checks to see if fault is due to circuit leaks, stuck doors or a faulty programmer.
