Chart C1E - Power Steering Pressure Switch Check
The power steering pressure switch opens when P.S. pressure goes high, such as on a full turn in either direction. When the P.S. switch opens, ti turns the A/C relay off, and sends a signal to the ECM. The ECM uses this signal for idle control.
NOTE:
The following step numbers refer to the numbers in the accompanying flow chart(s).
- This test checks to see that P/S pressure switch opens when pressure goes high.
- This test checks to see that P/S pressure switch is normally closed.
