Oxygen (O2) Sensor

The O2 sensor is mounted in the exhaust system where it can monitor oxygen content of the exhaust gasses. As oxygen content varies, sensor output voltage varies. By monitoring the O2 sensor, the ECM knows what fuel mixture command to give the injector.
