Diagnosis Procedure

ECM supplies a voltage of 5 V to some of the sensors systematically divided into 2 groups, respectively. Accordingly, when a short circuit develops in a sensor power source, a malfunction may occur simultaneously in the sensors belonging to the same group as the short-circuited sensor.

Sensor power supply 1 

• APP sensor 1
• Crankshaft position sensor
• EGR volume control valve position sensor
• Exhaust camshaft position sensor
• Intake manifold runner control valve position sensor
• Manifold absolute pressure sensor
• Throttle position sensor

NOTE: If sensor power supply 1 circuit is malfunctioning, DTC P0643 is displayed.

Sensor power supply 2 

• APP sensor 2
• Intake camshaft position sensor
• Engine oil pressure sensor
• Fuel rail pressure sensor
• Mass air flow sensor
• Refrigerant pressure sensor

1. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR 2 POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT-1 
   1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
   2. Disconnect accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor harness connector.
   3. Turn ignition switch ON.
   4. Check the voltage between APP sensor harness connector and ground.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   >>

   INSPECTION END

   >>

   GO TO 2.

2. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR 2 POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT-2 
   1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
   2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
   3. Check the continuity between APP sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   >>

   GO TO 3.

   >>

   Repair or replace malfunctioning part.

3. CHECK SENSOR POWER SUPPLY 2 CIRCUIT 

   Check harness for short to power and short to ground, between the following terminals.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   >>

   GO TO 4.

   >>

   Repair or replace malfunctioning part.

4. CHECK COMPONENTS 

   Check the following.

   • Accelerator pedal position sensor 2 (Refer to Component Inspection.)Component Inspection ).
   • Intake camshaft position sensor (Refer to Component Inspection.)Component Inspection ).
   • Engine oil pressure sensor (Refer to Component Inspection.)Component Inspection ).
   • Fuel rail pressure sensor (Refer to Component Inspection.)Component Inspection ).
   • Mass air flow sensor (Refer to Component Inspection.)Component Inspection ).
   • Refrigerant pressure sensor (Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.)Diagnosis Procedure ).

   Is the inspection result normal?

   >>

   Refer to Intermittent Incident .

   >>

   Replace malfunctioning part.
