Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
CAUTION:
- If replacing the ECM, perform "ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING ECM". Refer to Description .
- When replacing the ECM, a new ECM must be used. The functions controlled by the ECM do not operate properly if an ECM from another vehicle is used.
- Disconnect the battery negative terminal. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
- Remove the cowl top extension. Refer to Removal and Installation - Cowl Top Extension .
- Remove the front wheel and tire (RH) using power tool. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove the front fender protector (RH). Refer to Removal and Installation - Front Fender Protector .
- Position the relay box and IDPM/ER aside.
- Disconnect harness connector from the ECM.
- Remove nuts (A) and ECM (2) from ECM bracket (1).
- Remove bolts and ECM bracket (1) from vehicle (if necessary).
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
| ECM nut torque: | 5.5 N.m (0.57 kg-m, 49 in-lb) |
