Component

Function

1.

IPDM E/R (Intelligent Power Distribution Module Engine Room)

  • IPDM E/R detects push-button ignition switch status, and transmits push-button ignition switch status signal to the BCM via CAN communication.
  • IPDM E/R receives ignition relay (IPDM E/R) control signal and push-button ignition switch ON signal from the BCM via CAN communication, and controls the ignition relay (IPDM E/R).

Refer to System Description .

2.

BCM (Body Control Module)

  • BCM controls the power distribution system.
  • BCM judges the push-button ignition switch status by push-button ignition switch and vehicle condition.
  • BCM checks the push-button ignition switch status internally.

Refer to System Description .

3.

Push-button ignition switch

Refer to Push-Button Ignition Switch .

4.

A/T shift selector

A/T shift selector detects shift lever status and transmits detent switch signal to the BCM.

Refer to A/T Shift Selector for detailed component location.

5.

Ignition relay-1 [in fuse block (J/B)]

  • Ignition relay-1 is controlled by the BCM.
  • Ignition relay-1 supplies ignition power supply or ignition ON signal to each ECU when the push-button ignition switch is ON.
  • BCM compares the status of the ignition relay-1 control signal, and push-button ignition switch status judged by the BCM.

6.

Blower motor relay [in fuse block (J/B)]

  • Blower motor relay is controlled by the BCM.
  • Blower motor relay supplies ignition power supply to the blower motor when the push-button ignition switch is ON.
  • BCM compares the status of the blower motor relay control signal, and push-button ignition switch status judged by the BCM.

7.

Accessory relay [in fuse block (J/B)]

  • Accessory relay is controlled by the BCM.
  • Accessory relay supplies accessory power supply or ignition ON signal to each ECU when the push-button ignition switch is ON.
  • BCM compares the status of the accessory relay control signal, and push-button ignition switch status judged by the BCM.

8.

Stop lamp switch

Stop lamp switch detects that brake pedal is depressed, and transmits the signal to the BCM.

Refer to Stop Lamp Switch for detailed component location.
