Power Steering Fluid: Inspection

FLUID LEVEL 

Verify proper power steering fluid level. Whenever possible, check fluid level when cold.

1. Check power steering fluid level with engine stopped.
2. Fluid level should be as follows:
   • With cold power steering fluid 0 deg. - 30 deg. C (32 deg. - 86 deg. F), level should be between COLD MIN and COLD MAX lines. If fluid is at or below the COLD MIN line, add fluid to COLD MAX line.
   • With hot power steering fluid 50 deg. - 80 deg. C (122 deg. - 176 deg. F), level should be at HOT MAX line. If level is below the HOT MAX line, add fluid to HOT MAX line.
     CAUTION:

     • Do not overfill.
     • Do not reuse power steering fluid.
     • Recommended power steering fluid is Genuine NISSAN PSF II or equivalent. Refer to Gasoline Engine : Fluids and Lubricants
