Basic Control
When the quick charge connector is connected to the quick charge port and the start switch of quick charger is pressed, VCM detects the start switch ON by quick charger start/stop signal 1. And then VCM activates F/S CHG relay, system main relay 1, system main relay 2 and quick charge relay to ready the quick charge.
Next, VCM determines the target charge power based on the Li-ion battery chargeable power signal received from the Li-ion battery controller and the quick charger output possible current signal received from the quick charger.
The quick charger controls output power according to charge current request signal received from VCM through PDM (Power Delivery Module) via CAN communication.
When the charge amount reaches the prescribed amount and VCM receives the Li-ion battery charge completion signal from the Li-ion battery controller, VCM stops the charging.
- Even if the Li-ion battery remaining energy does not reach the predetermined level, VCM may stop the charge control after a certain period of time.
- When the Li-ion battery temperature reaches 60°C (140 deg.F) or higher, VCM temporarily stops quick charging and enters standby status.
- The charge does not start in power switch ON. If power switch ON during the charging is necessary, start the charge first then turn power switch ON.
