Driver Side: Seatback: Notes
WARNING:
- Before servicing the SRS, turn the ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery terminals then wait at least three minutes.
- Do not leave any objects (screwdrivers, tools, etc.) on the seat during servicing. It can lead to personal injury if the front side air bag module should accidentally deploy.
- Always work from the side or back of the seatback, do not work in front of seat.
- Do not use air tools or electric tools for servicing the seat assembly.
- Always place the front side air bag module with the pad side facing upward.
- Do not cause impact to the front side air bag module by dropping, etc. Replace the front side air bag module if it has been dropped or sustained an impact.
- Do not allow oil, grease, detergent or water to come in contact with the front side air bag module.
CAUTION:
- When removing and installing the seat, use shop cloths to protect components from damage.
- When removing or installing the seat trim, handle it carefully to keep dirt out and to avoid damage.
- Do not insert any objects into the front side air bag module.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the front side air bag module.
- Do not expose the front side air bag module to temperatures exceeding 93 deg.C (199 deg.F).
- During servicing, do not damage connectors, retainers, clips, module harness or the front side air bag module.
NOTE:
If the vehicle has been involved in a collision and the front side air bag module has deployed, replace the front seatback assembly.
