Driver Side: Seatback: Notes

WARNING:

Before servicing the SRS, turn the ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery terminals then wait at least three minutes.
Do not leave any objects (screwdrivers, tools, etc.) on the seat during servicing. It can lead to personal injury if the front side air bag module should accidentally deploy.
Always work from the side or back of the seatback, do not work in front of seat.
Do not use air tools or electric tools for servicing the seat assembly.
Always place the front side air bag module with the pad side facing upward.
Do not cause impact to the front side air bag module by dropping, etc. Replace the front side air bag module if it has been dropped or sustained an impact.
Do not allow oil, grease, detergent or water to come in contact with the front side air bag module.

CAUTION:

When removing and installing the seat, use shop cloths to protect components from damage.
When removing or installing the seat trim, handle it carefully to keep dirt out and to avoid damage.
Do not insert any objects into the front side air bag module.
Do not attempt to disassemble the front side air bag module.
Do not expose the front side air bag module to temperatures exceeding 93 deg.C (199 deg.F).
During servicing, do not damage connectors, retainers, clips, module harness or the front side air bag module.

NOTE: If the vehicle has been involved in a collision and the front side air bag module has deployed, replace the front seatback assembly.
