Component

Function

1.

Rear door lock actuator RH

Rear door lock actuator locks/unlocks the rear door latch assembly.

2.

Rear door switch RH

Door switch detects door open/close condition and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM.

3.

Front door switch RH

Door switch detects door open/close condition and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM.

4.

Front door lock actuator RH

Front door lock actuator locks/unlocks the front door latch assembly.

5.

CVT shift selector (park position switch)

(with CVT)

CVT shift selector detects the shift lever status and transmits park position switch signal status to the Intelligent Key unit.

6.

Power window and door lock/unlock switch RH

Refer to Door Lock and Unlock Switch (Passenger Side) .

7.

Intelligent Key unit

Intelligent Key unit controls INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (ENGINE START FUNCTION), NISSAN VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS [NVIS (NATS)] and VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM.

Intelligent Key unit performs the ID verification between Intelligent Key unit and Intelligent Key when the Intelligent Key is carried into the detection area of inside key antenna, and push-button ignition switch is pressed. If the ID verification result is OK, ignition switch operation is available.

Then, when the ignition switch is turned ON, Intelligent Key unit performs ID verification between Intelligent Key unit and ECM. If the ID verification result is OK, ECM can start engine.

Refer to Intelligent Key Unit .

8.

Horn

IPDM E/R energizes the horn when horn chirp is required.

9.

Hood switch

(if equipped)

Hood switch transmits hood open/closed signal to the IPDM E/R.

10.

Transmission range switch

(with CVT)

Supplies power to the starter cut relay (inside IPDM E/R) when the CVT shift selector is shifted into the P or N position.

11.

Park/neutral position (PNP) switch (neutral switch)

(with MT)

Park/neutral position (PNP) switch (neutral switch) detects that the Transmission is in the neutral position, and transmits the signal to the BCM.

12.

IPDM/ER

IPDM E/R detects hood open/closed signal and controls horns when horn chirp is required.

13.

ECM

ECM controls the engine.

When power supply position is turned ON, BCM starts communication with ECM and performs the ID verification between BCM and ECM. If the verification result is OK, the engine can start. If the verification result is invalid, the engine can not start

14.

Clutch pedal position switch

(with MT)

Clutch pedal position switch detects that the clutch pedal is depressed, and transmits the signal to the BCM.

15.

BCM

BCM controls the door lock actuators.

16.

Clutch interlock switch

Clutch interlock switch detects that clutch pedal is depressed, then provides power source to starter control relay and starter relay, and transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM.

17.

Stop lamp switch

Stop lamp switch detects that the brake pedal is depressed, and transmits the signal to the BCM.

Refer to Exploded View for detailed installation location.

18.

Combination meter

Combination meter transmits the vehicle speed signal to BCM via CAN communication.

BCM also receives the vehicle speed signal from ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) via CAN communication. BCM compares both signals to detect the vehicle speed.

Security indicator lamp is located on combination meter.

Security indicator lamp blinks when ignition switch is in any position other than ON to warn that NISSAN VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS [NVIS (NATS)] is on board.

19.

Main power window and door lock/unlock switch

Refer to Door Lock and Unlock Switch (Driver Side) .

20.

Puch-button ignition switch/NATS antenna Amp.

  • Push-button ignition switch has push switch inside which detects that push-button ignition switch is pressed, and then transmits ON/OFF signal to Intelligent Key unit. Intelligent Key unit changes the ignition switch position with the operation of push-button ignition switch. Intelligent Key unit maintains the ignition switch position status while push-button ignition switch is not operated.
  • The ID verification is performed between BCM and transponder in Intelligent Key via NATS antenna amp., which is integrated into the push-button ignition switch, when Intelligent Key backside is contacted to push-button ignition switch in case that Intelligent Key battery is discharged. If the ID verification result is OK, the operation of starting engine is available.

21.

Front door lock assembly LH

Refer to Front Door Lock Assembly (LH) .

22.

Front door switch LH

Door switch detects door open/close condition and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM.

23.

Rear door switch LH

Door switch detects door open/close condition and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM.

24.

Rear door lock actuator LH

Rear door lock actuator locks/unlocks the rear door latch assembly.
