Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Apply the parking brake.
    CAUTION: Make sure the vehicle cannot move with the parking brake applied.
  2. Remove the exhaust front tube. Refer to Exploded View .
  3. Remove the heat shield nuts (A) and remove heat shield.

  4. Remove battery tray. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  5. Using a suitable tool, disconnect control cable (1) from manual lever as shown in illustration (SYMBOL ).

  6. While pressing the lock of the selector cables in the direction shown in illustration, remove the selector cable from the CVT cable bracket.

  7. Remove the center console. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  8. Remove the control cable from the CVT shift selector assembly with the following procedure:
    1. Remove control cable (A) from shift selector assembly as shown in illustration (SYMBOL ).

    2. Remove control cable (B) from CVT shift selector assembly in the direction shown in illustration (SYMBOL ).
  9. Release pawls (B) using suitable tool, and pull grommet (A) downward to remove.

  10. Remove the control cable from the vehicle.
