Steering Column Assembly

  1. Check each part of steering column assembly for damage or other malfunctions. Replace entire steering column assembly if any parts are damaged.
  2. Measure the length (L) as shown if vehicle has been involved in a minor collision. Replace steering column assembly if outside the specifications.

    Steering column length (L)

    : Refer to Steering Column .
  3. Measure steering column rotating torque using suitable tool. Replace steering column assembly if outside the standard.

    Rotating torque

    : Refer to Steering Column .
  4. Check tilt and telescopic mechanism operating range (L 1 ), (L 2 ) as shown.

    Telescopic operating range (L 2 )

    : Refer to Steering Column .
