Disassembly And Assembly: Disassembly

  1. Remove brake caliper from vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove slide pin boots from torque member.
  3. Remove slide pin bushing from slide pin.
  4. Place a wooden block in cylinder body and blow air from union bolt hole to remove piston and piston boot.

    WARNING:

    Do not get fingers caught between pistons and brake caliper body.

    CAUTION:

    Do not reuse piston boot.

  5. Remove piston seal from brake caliper body using a suitable tool.

    CAUTION:
    • Do not damage cylinder inner wall.
    • Do not reuse piston seal.
  6. Remove bleeder valve and cap.
