Disassembly And Assembly: Assembly

Apply recommended grease to inner socket.
NOTE:
Always check with the Parts Department for the latest parts information.
Install boot to steering gear.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse boot.
Install large boot clamp to boot and secure using Tool.

Tool number : KV40107300 (-)

CAUTION:
Do not reuse large boot clamp
Install small boot clamp to boot.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse small boot clamp.

Position the inner socket lock nut (C) on the inner socket (1) at the standard distance (A) from the inner socket flat (B). Install the outer socket (2) to the inner socket (1).

CAUTION:

Adjust toe-in after this procedure. Length achieved after toe-in adjustment is not necessary the value above.
To prevent damage, hold outer socket across flats using suitable tool while tightening inner socket lock nut.
Inspect to make sure no boot deformation has occurred during toe-in adjustment. Adjust boot as necessary.
